If your question isn't covered here, practical details such as cost are covered in the application process.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Product Circle?

Product Circle is a by-application community for product managers and founders in India. It's where product people come together to meet experienced PMs and founders, exchange ideas, discover opportunities and learn from people who have been there and built that. Members get six things on a steady rhythm, in a group small enough that people know each other. The [about page](https://productcircle.club/about) has the fuller picture.

### Who is Product Circle for?

It's for product managers and founders, and people moving between the two: ex-founders back in product roles, PMs thinking about starting a company, founders doing the product job themselves. PMs tend to come for peers outside their company, sharper product sense and roles shared by people they can talk to. Founders tend to come for office hours with people who have raised, built and hired, and for co-founder and founding PM openings. There are dedicated pages [for product managers](https://productcircle.club/for-product-managers) and [for founders](https://productcircle.club/for-founders) explaining how membership fits each.

### Who runs Product Circle?

Product Circle is run by the team behind [Mehman](https://mehman.ai). The same team runs the community and reviews every application by hand.

### What is the connection between Product Circle and Mehman?

Product Circle is run by the team behind [Mehman](https://mehman.ai). Mehman describes itself as a personal AI for travel that books visas, flights, stays, pickups, cabs, restaurants and tickets, and it is currently on a waitlist. Product Circle is a separate thing: a community for product managers and founders, with its own by-application membership.

### How many members does Product Circle have?

More than 250 product managers and founders have joined. It's kept small enough that people know each other, which is one reason joining is by application. A smaller circle means people recognise you at the second meetup and remember what you asked in last week's AMA.

### How do I join Product Circle?

There are three steps. First, fill in the short application form. Second, a person reads it: every application is read personally by the team, and new members are added in small batches. Third, you're in: if you're selected, the WhatsApp number on your form is added to the member group and you're introduced to the circle. The [how to join page](https://productcircle.club/how-to-join) lists every question on the form, with tips and illustrative examples of weaker and stronger answers.

### What does the application ask?

Every question is required. First, your details: full name, email, WhatsApp number (with country code), current role or title, company, years in product (0–2, 2–5, 5–10 or 10+), city and LinkedIn profile URL. Then two questions: what's one product decision you're proud of, and why; and what you want from the community, where you tick any of live events, workshops, get-togethers and meetups, knowledge sharing and discussions, career and hiring, finding collaborators and mentors, or other.

### How are applications reviewed?

By hand. A person on the team reads every application; there's no automated filter. The product decision you're proud of is the main thing we read, because what matters is how you think about products, not your title. That's also why the process isn't instant.

### How long does it take to hear back?

We don't publish a fixed turnaround. Every application is read by a person, and new members are added in small batches to keep the room high-signal, so it takes a little time.

### What makes a strong application?

A specific answer to "What's one product decision you're proud of, and why?" Two or three lines is plenty. Name one real decision and the reason it was right: "Cut KYC from five screens to two by deferring PAN until first payout; drop-off at onboarding fell by a third" says far more than "led a big redesign that users loved". The [how to join page](https://productcircle.club/how-to-join) has side-by-side examples.

### Do I need a senior title to apply?

No. Product managers at any level are welcome to apply, from APM to CPO, and the form's experience options start at 0–2 years in product. What matters is how you think about products, not your title. If you're a founder doing the product job yourself, put that as your role. If you're still moving into product, our guide on [how to become a product manager in India](https://productcircle.club/blog/how-to-become-a-product-manager-in-india) may help.

### How much does Product Circle membership cost?

Membership details, including any cost, are covered in the application process. We'd rather tell you directly than publish something incomplete here.

### What do Product Circle members get?

Six things: a weekly 45-minute AMA with a PM or founder; product teardowns every two weeks; member intros with a one-line tagline; an always-open jobs and opportunities board; a monthly chai meetup in person; and office hours with VCs and founders, in 20-minute slots. Each runs on its own rhythm, so something useful is always coming up without you needing to be online all day. The [membership page](https://productcircle.club/membership) summarises them in one table, with a link to a page for each perk explaining how it works and how to get the most from it.

### What is the weekly AMA?

It's a 45-minute session every week with a PM or founder. Questions come from members and are answered live. Bring the questions you can't ask at work: how someone pushed back on a founder's pet feature, how they priced a first product, or what they'd do differently in their first year. Specific questions with one line of context get the best answers. More on the [weekly AMA page](https://productcircle.club/membership/weekly-ama), and our guide on [how to ask good questions in an AMA](https://productcircle.club/blog/how-to-ask-good-questions-in-an-ama) helps you prepare.

### Who are the AMA guests?

Each AMA is with a PM or founder. The guest line-up, along with the day and time, is shared with members rather than published.

### How do product teardowns work?

Every two weeks, members take one product apart together. Notes go under three labels: "Works", "Doesn't" and "Steal this". For example: "Address saved in one tap" works; "Six permission prompts before the first order" doesn't; "Delivery time shown before sign-up" is worth stealing. See the [product teardowns page](https://productcircle.club/membership/product-teardowns) and our guide on [how to do a product teardown](https://productcircle.club/blog/how-to-do-a-product-teardown).

### Why does every member get a one-line tagline?

Every new member is introduced with a one-line tagline, so people know who to talk to. An illustrative example from our site: "I make checkout boring, on purpose." A good tagline names what you do, carries a small point of view and gives people an obvious first question. The [member intros page](https://productcircle.club/membership/member-intros) has tips and example taglines.

### What is on the jobs and opportunities board?

PM roles and founder openings, such as founding PM roles and co-founder searches, shared by members for members. It's always open, so roles can go up whenever they come up. Because roles come from members, there's usually someone you can ask about the team before you apply. More on the [jobs board page](https://productcircle.club/membership/jobs-board).

### Can I post a job on the board?

The board is shared by members for members, so posting is part of membership. If you're hiring a first PM, our guide on [what a founding product manager is](https://productcircle.club/blog/what-is-a-founding-product-manager) helps you write the role.

### What are office hours?

Office hours are time with VCs and founders who have raised, built and hired before you. Members pick a 20-minute slot on the calendar and bring one real problem: whether to raise now, why a pitch isn't converting, who to hire first, or whether to take a founding PM role. Specific hosts are shared with members. The [office hours page](https://productcircle.club/membership/office-hours) and our guide on [how to prepare for VC office hours](https://productcircle.club/blog/how-to-prepare-for-vc-office-hours) explain how to use the time well.

### What is the Product Circle chai meetup?

It's a monthly, in-person meetup for members: good conversation, no slides. There's no speaker and no deck; it's where people you've met in AMAs and teardowns become people you actually know. Venues and dates are shared with members rather than published. The application asks for your city, so the team knows where you're based. More on the [chai meetups page](https://productcircle.club/membership/chai-meetups).

### Is Product Circle online or in person?

The chai meetup is in person, every month. Schedules and joining details for the AMA, teardowns and office hours are shared with members after they're accepted.

### Is Product Circle only for people in India?

Product Circle is India-focused. Specifics such as which cities members are in and which roles are open are shared with members rather than published. The application asks for your city, so if you're based outside India, the team will see that.

### How much time does membership take?

As much as you choose. The AMA is 45 minutes a week, teardowns are every two weeks and the chai meetup is monthly. Nobody expects you at everything. A founder raising a round may lean on office hours; a PM changing jobs may spend more time on the board; a PM building product sense may rarely miss a teardown.

### Is Product Circle a course or a recruitment service?

Neither. It's a community. You learn from people through AMAs, teardowns and office hours, and you hear about roles through the members' board, but there's no syllabus and no placement promise. If you want to brush up on the basics alongside it, our [PM glossary](https://productcircle.club/glossary) and guides such as [how to write a PRD](https://productcircle.club/blog/how-to-write-a-prd) are free to read.
